Biography

The Maleficent Seven

Kaiven's only appearance is in The Maleficent Seven. He works a guard for Jackie Earl's compound. Tanith remarks on his goods looks, which angers Sanguine. Sanguine is angered further when Tanith mentioned that Kaiven channels his magic through a wand, claiming he's going to kill Kaiven.

Later, when Sanguine confronts Kaiven and questions him on taking orders from a mortal, Kaiven responds by telling him that he spent most of this life in a Necromancer Temple, and now that he has left the Necromancer Order he has an apartment and a large television that doubles as a computer. He also mentions that now he watches reruns of television shows, such as Gilmore Girls and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (two of Derek Landy's favourite programs) and is amazed at how humanity has progressed. Kaiven and Sanguine then proceed to fight. It is presumed Kaiven is killed, but it is never clearly stated how he died.

Magic

Kaiven is a Necromancer and is noteworthy for being the only Skulduggery Pleasant character to use a wand.
